Bangladesh’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN AK Abdul Momen has been made the Chairman of UN’s Asia-Pacific Group.

Momen has been selected for the position after consent of the 55 member countries of the Group, a media brief from the Bangladesh Mission said.
The Bangladesh Ambassador is going to chair the Group for the second time.
The member countries of the Group have been divided into five sections -- Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe.
Among them Asia-Pacific Group consists of the highest number of member countries.
