Four people have been killed in two separate road accidents in Dhaka on Friday night.
The driver of a CNG autorickshaw and his passenger were killed when a truck rammed their vehicle in the Tejgaon Industrial Area.
The driver was identified as Abdul Alim, 65, while the passenger was Harun Rahman, 32. Harun’s wife Brishty and sister Happy were injured in the incident. Harun hailed from Kishoreganj’s Katiadi Upazila and lived in Dhaka’s Mohakhali. Alim lived in Central Badda.
Around the same time, a man and his daughter were killed when a truck rammed their motorcycle in Dhaka’s Science Laboratory area. Police identified the two as Saju Ahmed Sumon, 45, and his daughter Sumaiya Ahmed Tusha, 20. Saju was an employee of the Public Works Department and Tusha was a student.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s Emergency Department around 11pm, where the doctor on duty declared them dead.
The four bodies have been kept in the morgue at the emergency department, said Inspector Md Faruk of the DMCH Police Outpost.
