Dhaka, June 7 (bdnews24.com)—Celebrated artist Mohammad Kibria has died at the age of 83.
The artist breathed his last at Lab Aid Hospital in Dhaka around 7:30 am on Tuesday, his long time associate and student artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury told bdnews24.com.
Suffering from pneumonia Kibria was admitted to the private hospital on May 31. His body has been kept in BIRDEM morgue.
Kibria left behind wife and two sons.
Born on Jan 1, 1929 in Birbhum, West Bengal, Kibria graduated from Caulcutta Government Art Institute and later pursued higher studies in fine arts in Japan.
Kibria is a recipient of Ekushey Padak and Independence Award.
Dhaka University selected him as a professor emeritus in 2008.
