Dhaka, Mar 27 (bdnews24.com) - A Dhaka court on Tuesday framed charges against Daily Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman and three others in connection with a case filed by telecom regulator, BTRC.
The metropolitan magistrate's court of Atikur Rahman has also fixed May 21 for deposition of the case.
The three other accused are the newspaper's publisher Hashmot Ali, executive editor Syed Abdal Ahmad and special correspondent Oliur Rahman.
On October 28, 2009, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) filed a defamation suit against the accused after the Bengali daily ran two reports alleging 'India controls BTRC'.
Lawyer for the accused Belal Hossain said the hearing for framing charges was held on December 13 last year.
