Chittagong, March 2 (BDNEWS) – Top terrorist of Sita Kunda Apu nath (35) was killed in crossfire with police at the cross dam area under Banshbaria UP.
Police sources said that police arrested Apu from Agrabad area in the city on Tuesday afternoon. He confessed that he had arms cache beside the Banshbaria cross dam while being grilled. When police took him there to recover illegal arms, his accomplices greeted police with hails of bullets prompting them to retaliate.
Apu received bullet injuries when he tried to escape and died on the spot. Police recovered a loaded LG and 10 rounds of bullets from the spot.
Apu, a former leader of JSD Chhatra League, was the son of Nirmal Naath, hailed from Maj Pukur area of Sita Kunda. He was an accused in 10 cases on charges of killing and robbery.
