Dhaka, Mar 8 (bdnews24.com) – Police on Thursday took into custody Abul Hashem, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami's Dhaka district south unit, on apprehension that he could create trouble during the opposition-called Mar 12 rally.
Hashem, also a Shura member of the central committee, was arrested from his residence at Charail village of Keraniganj around 9:30pm, Keraniganj Model Police Station officer in-charge Mainuddin told bdnews24.com.
"We have proof that he was involved with torching of vehicles and other violence on a day prior to a general strike enforced by BNP earlier," he added.
