Qatar has extended the validity of all categories of entry visas that have expired or are about to expire by one month in view of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The announcement was made in a media statement issued by the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday morning.

The decision will take effect from Saturday, Feb 28, 2026 -- the day the war began -- and may be extended further depending on developments.

The ministry confirmed that all extensions will be processed automatically, with no need for physical visits or additional paperwork, and that the extension will be granted free of charge.

While the new extension is free, the ministry clarified that individuals who overstayed before the Feb 28 cutoff must first pay the prescribed reconciliation fines for their prior visa violations, the statement added.

The ministry said it would continue to monitor developments and take necessary measures to ensure the legal stability of residents and visitors.

The government also urged everyone to remain indoors, limit movement to cases of absolute necessity, keep away from windows and exposed areas and comply with official instructions issued by the authorities.
