The government has appointed Shish Haider Chowdhury, a member of the International Cooperation Division at the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission, as the new secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division.
The Ministry of Public Administration announced his appointment in a notification on Saturday afternoon.
The ministry said Chowdhury has been assigned to the ICT Division, effective immediately.
On Thursday, the government transferred the former ICT secretary, Mohammad Samsul Arefin, to the public administration ministry as an Officer on Special Duty.
Following the Aug 5 resignation of the Sheikh Hasina government amid intense student protests and the subsequent formation of the interim government on Aug 8, there has been a series of reshuffles and changes across government bodies.
The appointment of Chowdhury comes just two days after the former secretary was designated OSD.
