The explosion at the firing range took place at 2pm, Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate’s (ISPR) and local sources confirmed.
The military’s press wing said four of the injured were shifted to Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and five others admitted to Rangpur CMH.
They have been identified as warrant officers Ketabul Islam, Mohammad Ali, Corporals Abdul Mannan, Golam Rasul, Sergeants Fazlul Haque and Rowshan Ali, Sepoys Bikash Chandra Roy, Abdur Rahman and ‘Zahir’.
All of them were members of Rangpur Cantonment’s 34 East Bengal Regiment.
They were undergoing training at Bir Uttam Shaheed Mahbub Cantonment at Dinajpur’s Kholahati.
