Most of the eight admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute are in critical condition, doctors say

At least eight people, including three children, have suffered burn injuries after a gas leak sparked a fire in a house in Narayanganj.
All of the victims have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute and most are in critical condition, doctors say.
The fire broke out around 3:30am on Monday at a house in the Dhakeshwari No. 2 area in Narayanganj, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the institute's emergency department. They were brought to the institute around 4:45am.
"Most of them came with major burn injuries to the emergency department. Most of them have major burns and are in critical condition.”
The injured have been identified as Md Sabbir, 16, Hannan, 40, Lucky, 30, Samia, 9, Jannat, 3, Rupali, 20, Sumaiya, 1.5, and Shohag, 23.
Sabbir had burns on 27 percent of his body, Hannan on 45 percent, Lucky on 22 percent, Samia on 7 percent, Jannat on 3 percent, Rupali on 34 percent, Sumaiya on 44 percent, and Shohag on 40 percent.
Citing the injured, a senior staff nurse at the institute told bdnews24.com the fire sparked when the gas stove was lit.
"They initially said the fire was quite large. Eight people have been hospitalised.”
