8 killed in road accidents

Four of a family and as many others were killed in three road accidents in Sylhet, Natore and Habiganj on Friday.

Dhaka, June 18 (bdnews24.com)--Four of a family and as many others were killed in three road accidents in Sylhet, Natore and Habiganj on Friday.
Four members of a family were killed and one injured when a car carrying them fell into a roadside ditch at Chaparchalk East Jalalpur in Bianibazar Upazila at noon.
Anjuman Ara Begum, 50, Anwara Begum, 35, Humayra Akter, 22, and her son Abiduzzaman Rudra, 4, were the residents of Hatidahar of Zakiganj Upazila in Sylhet.
The injured is Ashikuzzaman Russell, 30, husband of Humayra.
The family was going to Hatirdahar village under Zakiganj from Sylhet and Ashikuzzaman was driving the car, Bianibazar police chief AKM Fazlul Haque Shibli told bdnews24.com.
He said the car lost its control when it reached near Chaparchalk East Jalalpur area on the Sylhet-Bianibazar-Zakiganj Highway and fell into a ditch.
The police recovered the bodies. A case was filed with Bianibazar Police Station, the police officer said.
In Natore, two persons were killed when a car smashed into a bus on the Ishwardi-Lalpur Highway at Palideha under Lalpur Upazila in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Ainuddin Al Azad, 52, a singer, and his car driver Aslam Sheikh, 40.
Lalpur police chief Tariqul Islam told bdnews24.com that Ainuddin had been going to Rajshahi from Dhaka to perform at a function.
Local people and fire brigade personnel recovered the body of Aslam from inside the car three hours after the accident.
Critically injured Ainuddin was first admitted to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex before being shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he died at around 12pm, said Tariqul.
The police officer said they seized the killer bus but its driver and his assistant escaped.
Preparation was on in the afternoon for filing a case.
Ainuddin, director general of cultural organisation Calara and managing director of Surkendra, lived at Nayapaltan in Dhaka city, his student Al Amin told bdnews24.com.
In Habiganj, two persons were killed when a truck carrying cattle collided head-on with another wood-laden Dhaka-bound truck at Habiganj's Madhabpur Upazila early in the day.
Five cattle were also killed.
Madhabpur police chief Sheikh Kabirul Islam said fire service personnel recovered the body of Sajal Mia, 50, owner of the woods, from inside of the truck with the help of policemen.
He was from Gavigaon village of the Upazila.
Truck driver Manik Mia, 45, of Amuroad village of Madhabpur Upazila, was admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where he died.
