A man has been killed after a car veered out of control and crashed into a tree in Natore’s Baraigram Upazila.
The accident occurred at 8am on Sunday in the Gormati Colony area of the Natore-Pabna Highway, according to Moniruzzaman, chief (OC) of Bonpara Highway Police Station.
The victim was identified as 29-year-old Zulfiqur Ali Zillu, who hailed from Pabna’s Ishwardi.
OC Moniruzzaman said, “Zulfiqur’s Gaye Holud (a traditional pre-wedding event) was scheduled for this evening, his wedding on Monday. He was on his way to Bonpara to pick up his sister and brother-in-law for the wedding.”
“Along the way, the car veered out of control, hit a tree by the side of the road, and then struck a truck parked next to it. He died at the scene.”
Zulfiqur’s body has been recovered and taken to the police station. The accident will be investigated and the necessary legal action taken, the police official said.
