Chattogram Range's Deputy Inspector General Ahsan Habib Palash has been appointed director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) as part of a continuing reshuffle in the administration under the new government.
There have also been changes in the leadership of the police’s Special Branch (SB), and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The decision was announced in an order issued by the home ministry on Monday.
Under the order, Additional Inspector General at Police Headquarters Sarder Nurul Amin has been appointed chief of the Special Branch (SB), while Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, another additional inspector general at Police Headquarters, has been made chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Current CID chief Additional Inspector General Sibgat Ullah has been transferred to Police Headquarters.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner and Additional Inspector General Hasib Aziz has been assigned responsibility as chief of the Armed Police Battalion.
He will be replaced by Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Hasan Md Shawkat Ali.
Meanwhile, Special Branch DIG Moniruzzaman has been transferred to the Chattogram Range.
