The Public Service Commission has issued a notice for the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service exams for appointments to 3,688 government jobs.

Of them, 3,487 are cadre posts, while 201 are non-cadre.

Applications will be received from 10am on Dec 10, according to PSC spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Dec 31.

The BCS application fee has been set at Tk 700. The application fee for candidates belonging to ethnic minorities, the disabled, and third gender candidates is Tk 100.

Candidates between the minimum age of 21 and the maximum age of 32 can apply for the 47th BCS.

In the notice, the PSC said the preliminary BCS exam may be held in May next year. The specific date, time, and instructions for the examination will be published on the commission's website and in the media as well.

In the preliminary examination, candidates will take part in a 200-mark multiple choice question examination. The exam time will be two hours. Candidates will get one mark for each correct answer and half a mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

The written examination of this BCS will be conducted in eight divisional cities. The oral examination will be held at the commission's head office. No applications for changing centres will be accepted.

At a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday, Public Administration Secretary Md Mokhlesur Rahman outlined the appointment of ‘18,150 job seekers in less than two years' through the 43rd to the 47th BCS examinations.

That day he said, “In the latest upcoming circular for the 47th BCS exam, we have promised to complete the recruitment process in less than two years.”
