Dhaka, Apr 14 (bdnews24.com) – Bangla Academy has awarded its fellowship for the year 2012 to 11 people, including the top-most legal officer of the state, for the outstanding role they have played in their respective fields.
Those who were given away the award at a programme to mark Bengali New Year on Saturday are attorney general Mahbubey Alam, lawyer Sultana Kamal, artist Mustafa Monwar, poet Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, language movement heros Tofazzal Hossain, commander (retd) Abdur Rouf and Nurul Islam, and Prof Sonia Nishat Amin, folk artist Saidur Rahman Boyati, Dr Mizanur Rahman Shelley and Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled.
Bangla Academy president Prof Anisuzzaman and director general Shamsuzzaman Khan handed over flowers, crests and citations to the awardees.
