Gangachara Hindu community shaken after attacks over blasphemy claim

Villagers say fear persists despite deployment of law enforcers in the area

Hindu residents of Aldadpur Balapara village in Rangpur’s Gangachara Upazila remain in fear after their homes were attacked over allegations of religious defamation.

The attacks took place in phases on Saturday night and again on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the presence of law-enforcing agencies in the area since the incidents, villagers say a sense of fear and insecurity still hangs over the community.
