Father says Ad-din hospital has given no explanation after deaths of newborns

At least six newborns have died at the hospital in Moghbazar

At least six newborns have died at Ad-din Medical College Hospital in Dhaka’s Moghbazar, with one of the infants’ fathers saying the hospital authorities had not informed families properly about what happened.

A hospital official said the babies died on Tuesday night and early on Wednesday morning, though the exact causes of the deaths has yet to be confirmed.

Police visited the hospital after reports of the “unnatural deaths” of newborns aged between one and two days in the post-operative unit.
