Dhaka, Oct 19 (BDNEWS) – Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu was selected manager of the national football team in spite of the two main contenders, Amirul Islam Babu and Sayeed Hasan Kanon, who were involved in a row to occupy the position.
BFF president S A Sultan selected the manager Wednesday as the meeting could not take any decision on it.
The BFF president nominated the manger and the name of the team-leader for the forthcoming Four-Nations Football Tournament in Myanmar in October and the SAF Championship in December in Pakistan. BFF vice-president Monir Ahmed was selected as the team-leader of the national football team.
BFF president said Wednesday, "I have selected best possible persons."
Babu was selected as the manager of the Under-20 national team and kanon was selected as the coordinator of the national team, Under-20 and Under-17 national team.
BFF president also declared the name of the team-leader of the Under-20 national team and the name of the manager of the Under-17 national team.
Alhaj Dastagir Chowdhury was selected as the team-leader of the Under-20 national team while Azfar-uz-Zaman Sohrab was selected as the manager of the Under-17 national team.
Sultan didn't select anybody as the team-leader of the Under-17 national team. Sultan said about this, "I didn't select the Under-17 team-leader because the team is not going abroad."
The Under-20 national team will play the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup home and away matches against Iran and leaving the country on November 21.
The Under-17 national team will also play the AFC Cup matches in the country.
