Yunus congratulates Bangladesh for historic SAFF women’s futsal triumph

He says the success showed the indomitable spirit, hard work and ability of Bangladesh’s women athletes

Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has congratulated the Bangladesh women’s team for becoming SAFF Women’s Futsal Champions.

In a message on Sunday, he underscored the achievement as “a matter of pride for the country’s sporting arena”.

In the final of the inaugural SAFF tournament on Sunday, Bangladesh thrashed Maldives 14–2 to clinch the title.

The head of the interim government said, “This success is a shining proof of the indomitable spirit, hard work and ability of Bangladesh’s women athletes.”

Thanking the players, coaching staff and all involved, he added: “This achievement will inspire the country’s young generation in sports and brighten Bangladesh’s image on the international stage.”
