Instagram will now let users promote tagged photos to their main profile grid.

The Tagged tab still exists and remains where users can see all the posts they have been tagged in, but particular posts can now also be displayed on the main grid, Engadget reports.

Instagram said this works well for favourite group photos, creator collaborations and memories, though users can add any post they like.

There are several ways to add a tagged post to the grid.

Users can do so from the direct message notification they receive when tagged, through the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the tagged post, or by pressing and holding a post in the Tagged tab.

The “Add to grid” option also includes a notice that visibility depends on the privacy settings of both the user's account and the account of the person who tagged them.

Users can remove a tagged post from their profile later without deleting the original post completely.

Posts added to the grid will appear in reverse-chronological order by default, but users can rearrange them as they wish.

Instagram introduced the ability to reorder posts on profiles in June, a year after first announcing the feature, the tech website said.

Users can move posts regardless of when they were originally made, allowing them to customise the look of their Instagram profiles.
