Quamrul was giving his reaction to the journalists on the Peelkhana massacre trial that handed down death sentences to 152 BDR personnel and sent 161 others to life in prison on Tuesday.

“Paskitani intelligence agency ISI and BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury fuelled the 2009 incident (Peelkhana massacre). Tk 0.4 billion was distributed for carrying out the incident,” Quamrul alleged.

He specifically accused Salauddin Quader Chowdhury of disbursing the money to former BDR Directror General Fazlur Rahman and his other associates as part of the conspiracy for the massacre.
In his words TK 0.05 billion to Tk 50 billion was distributed among the conspirators at ‘different’ levels.
“The conspiracy was to kill the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Feb 24. But the mutiny was staged the day after as their attempt (on Hasina’s life) failed,” said Quamrul.
The minister quoted CNN and reports published in Bangladeshi media on Nov 3 as sources of his information. He said it has tipped them off about the conspiracy and an investigation would be conducted along this line.
