BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the party will always stand by ethnic minorities and work for their advancement.

Speaking with ethnic minority leaders at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Tuesday, he said the BNP is committed to working alongside them, supporting their rights, and helping secure a “stronger” position in politics and society.

The discussion focused on the challenges these communities face.

After hearing their concerns, Fakhrul said the BNP, if elected to power, would ensure “easier access” to financial assistance and low-interest loans for women entrepreneurs from minority groups.

He also recalled that both late president Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia had prioritised supporting women entrepreneurs during their administrations.
