Gono Forum has unveiled a preliminary list of candidates for 133 constituencies ahead of the parliamentary polls.

The announcement was made on Saturday at a media briefing at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club by the party’s Acting President Subrata Chowdhury.

Subrata said the preliminary list could be revised, adding that names for the remaining constituencies would be declared later.

He will contest the Dhaka-6 seat himself as one of the party’s senior leaders.

Other candidates include Mizanur Rahman in Magura-1, SM Altaf Hossain in Dhaka-5, AKM Jaglul Haider Afrik in Narsingdi-3, Moshtak Ahmed in Cumilla-3, Selim Akbar in Chandpur-3, Suraiya Begum in Barguna-2, Ansar Khan in Sylhet-1, Abdul Hasib Chowdhury in Habiganj-3, Ratan Banerjee in Chattogram-5, Abdul Hafiz in Jhenaidah-2, Hiron Kumar Das in Barishal-6, and Golam Hossain Abab in Sunamganj-3.

Subrata described the announcement as a partial list, saying: “Many may be dropped from this list while others could be added later.”
