Inqilab Moncho returns to Shahbagh demanding justice over Hadi’s murder

The organisation calls on the people of Bangladesh to join the protest at Shahbagh Shaheed Hadi Square

Leaders and activists of Inqilab Moncho have returned to Dhaka's Shahbagh demanding the swift arrest and trial of those involved in the murder of its convenor Sharif Osman bin Hadi.

They took out a procession from Dhaka University Central Mosque around 1:45pm on Friday before assembling at Shahbagh.

Traffic was partially disrupted as protesters stood at the Shahbagh intersection.

Earlier, Inqilab Moncho announced it would hold a rally at Shahbagh in the afternoon to demand justice for Hadi’s murder.

A post from the organisation's official Facebook page called on the people of Bangladesh to join the protest at Shahbagh Shaheed Hadi Square.

Hadi was shot by assailants on Dec 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. He later died on Dec 18 while undergoing treatment in Singapore.

Since then, activists of Inqilab Moncho ave repeatedly staged sit-ins at Shahbagh, continuing to demand justice for his killing.
