Though age has taken its toll on his body, septuagenarian Abdul Latif Bhuiyan has not lost his passion for work. He has been making and repairing eyeglasses for more than 40 years at a small temporary shop on the side of the road in Narayanganj’s Kali Bazar. From fitting corrective lenses with utmost care to repairing old frames, he does everything with his two skilled hands. Latif's small shop serves as the most common source of eye care for low-income people who cannot afford to go to the larger and more expensive glasses shops in the city.
