BNP rally marred by violence

BNP leaders and supporters gathered outside their headquarters in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan for a rally to press ahead with their demand for an election-time caretaker government on Saturday, Oct 28, 2023. Amid high political tensions, they clashed with police at Kakrail and the violence spread to other parts of the city, forcing the leaders to halt the programme and call an antigovernment shutdown for Sunday.
