The formalities of Durga Puja begin with Maha Shashthi on Oct 16. At the Zamindar Bari Puja Mandap in Old Dhaka’s Banglabazar, clay artists are working tirelessly to paint the idols of Durga, Ganesha, Kartik, Saraswati, Lakshmi and Mahishasura, adding the final touches to the festival’s divine cast.
