Sugarcane market at Farashganj

Even though it’s not peak season, sugarcane from across the country is arriving at the wholesale market along the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka’s Farashganj. Juice vendors from across the capital are the main buyers here. As temperatures soar in April, demand for sugarcane and sugarcane juice has also risen sharply.
