The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recorded three more deaths with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, including two in Dhaka Division.
Since Mar 15, 834 people with measles symptoms have died nationwide, while measles was confirmed in 99 of the deaths, according to the health directorate.
The DGHS bulletin on Sunday said 131 people tested positive for measles in the 24 hours until 8am on Sunday.
Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of deaths with measles symptoms at 369, followed by Sylhet with 140. Rajshahi recorded 92 deaths, Mymensingh 74, Chattogram 63, Barishal 49, Khulna 33, and Rangpur 14.
Over the past 24 hours, 1,097 people sought hospital care with measles symptoms, with 1,026 admitted.
Of the new admissions, 359 were in Dhaka Division, 21 in Rajshahi, 114 in Sylhet, 266 in Chattogram, 122 in Barishal, 64 in Mymensingh, 61 in Khulna, and 19 in Rangpur.
With these admissions, the number of measles patients hospitalised nationwide has reached 130,609. Of them, 125,975 have been discharged after treatment, according to the DGHS.
The number of suspected measles cases nationwide stands at 149,503, while 18,404 cases have been confirmed, the DGHS said.
