Bangladesh has recorded three more deaths among people with measles symptoms and logged another 113 confirmed cases of the disease in a 24-hour count.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its Monday bulletin that the latest numbers were registered in the 24 hours from 8am on Sunday. The agency has tracked outbreak data on the disease since Mar 15.
The nationwide death toll from confirmed cases remained unchanged at 96, while 751 people have died after developing symptoms consistent with the disease.
The Dhaka Division remains hardest-hit with 326 symptom-related deaths, followed by Sylhet with 113, Rajshahi 91, Chattogram 61, Barishal 45, Mymensingh 71, Khulna 32, and Rangpur 12.
The health directorate says 961 people sought treatment for measles symptoms at hospitals nationwide over the past day, of whom 902 were admitted.
The Dhaka Division took in 297 patients, followed by Chattogram with 237, Barishal registered 131, Sylhet 93, Mymensingh 48, Khulna 50, Rajshahi 27, and Rangpur 19.
Cumulative hospital admissions have climbed to 113,522, with 109,179 patients discharged.
Suspected cases nationwide now total 131,044, while confirmed infections stand at 16,408.
