Ten more children with suspected cases of measles have died in a 24-hour count across Bangladesh.

Of them, two were confirmed to have the highly-contagious disease, while the eight others displayed relevant symptoms, according to a Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) bulletin on Friday.

An additional 58 cases of measles were confirmed across the country.

A total of 90 people have died with confirmed cases of measles across the country since Mar 15 while another 485 people died with relevant symptoms, according to the health directorate.

The Dhaka Division has seen the most deaths related to the disease with 196, while Rajshahi has logged 84.

Of the 674 patients who went to hospitals with symptoms consistent with measles, 616 have been admitted.

Dhaka’s hospitals saw the most admissions with 280, while Rangpur saw the least with four.

So far, Bangladesh has logged 8,943 confirmed cases of measles. However, the suspected caseload is significantly higher at 68,579.
