Two more people have died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while laboratory tests confirmed 101 new measles infections during the same period.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) daily measles bulletin on Saturday, 93 people have died from confirmed measles infection across Bangladewsh since Mar 15.

During the same period, 638 people have died with measles symptoms.

Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of deaths with measles symptoms at 274.

The other divisional figures are 88 in Rajshahi, 84 in Sylhet, 53 in Chattogram, 40 in Barishal, 62 in Mymensingh, 28 in Khulna and nine in Rangpur.

The DGHS said 732 people with measles symptoms visited hospitals across the country in the 24 hours until 8am on Saturday.

Of them, 704 were admitted for treatment.

Among the newly admitted patients, 256 are in Dhaka Division, 32 in Rajshahi, 36 in Sylhet, 179 in Chattogram, 101 in Barishal, 37 in Mymensingh, 49 in Khulna and 14 in Rangpur.

Since Mar 15, a total of 104,693 people with measles symptoms have sought treatment at hospitals nationwide.

Laboratory tests have confirmed measles infection in 12,526 of them.

During the same period, 87,966 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 84,218 have been discharged after receiving treatment.
