Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan remains India’s richest actor despite a sharp fall in his estimated wealth over the past year, according to the Hurun India Rich List 2026.
The list, released this week, puts Khan’s wealth at Rs 100 billion, or Tk 128.5 billion, keeping him ahead of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan, Hindustan Times reports.
That is down from the Rs 124.9 billion, or Tk 160.5 billion, attributed to him in the 2025 edition -- a fall of Rs 24.9 billion, or Tk 32 billion, in a year.
Khan’s fortune extends beyond his film earnings and reportedly includes business interests such as Red Chillies Entertainment and his stake in Kolkata Knight Riders through Knight Riders Sports.
The figures are estimates and may change depending on valuations assigned to private companies, investments and other assets, according to the Indian newspaper.
The Hurun Global Rich List, released earlier this year, had put Khan’s wealth at Rs 108 billion, or Tk 138.8 billion.
Amitabh Bachchan ranks second among actors on the 2026 list, with an estimated wealth of Rs 40 billion, or Tk 51.4 billion, up sharply from Rs 16.3 billion, or Tk 20.9 billion, in 2025.
His fortune is linked not only to his decades-long film career but also to investments, real estate and assets managed through his family office.
Salman Khan enters the list with an estimated wealth of Rs 30 billion, or Tk 38.6 billion.
Hrithik Roshan follows with Rs 25 billion, or Tk 32.1 billion, up from Rs 21.6 billion, or Tk 27.8 billion, in 2025, with his fitness and lifestyle brand HRX said to remain a key part of his business interests.
Juhi Chawla and Karan Johar, both of whom featured on the 2025 list, are absent from the 2026 rankings.
Chawla had an estimated net worth of Rs 77.9 billion, or Tk 100.1 billion, last year, while Johar’s stood at Rs 18.8 billion, or Tk 24.2 billion.
The list also features several names from the business side of the film industry.
Naresh Malhotra, father of “Ramayana” producer Namit Malhotra, leads that group with an estimated wealth of Rs 160 billion, or Tk 205.6 billion, while producers Bhushan Kumar, Ronnie Screwvala and Kalanithi Maran also feature, Hindustan Times said.
Shah Rukh is awaiting the release of “King”, directed by Siddharth Anand and also starring Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, along with Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Jackie Shroff.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on Dec 24, sandwiched between the Hollywood releases "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Dune Part 3".
