Prime Video’s romantic comedy ‘Don’t Be Shy’ puts four fresh faces at the centre of its coming-of-age story, with Aarushi Bajaj, Piyush Khati, Bianca Arora and Ansh Duggal leading the cast.
The trailer introduces Bajaj as Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, an independent young woman who has her life mapped out, from internships and scholarships to an MBA and marriage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Her carefully planned future takes a messy turn as friendships and romance disrupt her plans.
Khati plays Mayank, a rich and flamboyant man Shy has long imagined marrying, while Duggal portrays her childhood friend Dhruv, who is more comfortable in his own company. Arora plays Tara, a free-spirited and outgoing woman who adds another layer of chaos to Shy’s life.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film explores first love, heartbreak, friendship and the questionable decisions that often come with growing up.
Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film is produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions, with Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani as co-producers.
Bhatt says the story appealed to her because of its sincerity and coming-of-age perspective, while Mukerji describes it as a tribute to the films she grew up watching.
‘Don’t Be Shy’ premieres exclusively on Prime Video on Sept 25 in Hindi with English subtitles across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
