A tale of love, destiny, and tangled emotions unfolds in the upcoming mystery-thriller “Gerakol”, premiering Thursday on the OTT platform Chorki.
Directed by Rakayet Rabby, the “flash fiction” stars Intekhab Dinar, Samira Khan Mahi, and Abu Hurayra Tanvir in key roles.
The trailer, released on Tuesday, offers glimpses of campus life, romance, blurred lines between right and wrong, and the relationships that tie people together. It opens with the dialogue: “Truth isn’t always what the eyes can see”.
The story centres on Rimi, Anik, and Moshtaq. During a holiday trip, Rimi meets Moshtaq, a painter. The two grow close, causing cracks to form in her relationship with Anik.

Meanwhile, Moshtaq’s own marriage begins to unravel. Their lives spiral, drawing in viewers for the ride.
“Life is full of moments that can’t be spoken about, yet they leave a lasting mark,” said director Rabby. “Gerakol captures one such story about life as a student, and what comes after.”
Speaking about her role, Mahi said: “My character, Rimi, is somewhat mysterious. I will be seen in a fashionable look throughout the story, but at one point, I’ll appear in a completely different light. Viewers might misjudge the character at first, but by the end, they’ll understand why.”
The cast also includes Sushama Sarkar, Humaira Snigdha, Shihab, and Sadi Shubho. The screenplay was written by Rabby, based on the story and dialogues by Nazim Ud Daula.
