The body of content creator and actress Kaarina Kaisar, who died in India while undergoing treatment, has reached Dhaka.
A flight carrying her remains landed at Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday afternoon.
Her father, former national football team captain Mohammad Kaisar Hamid, broke down in tears while receiving the body.
The family left the airport with the body around 5:30pm for their residence in Banani.
Three consecutive funeral prayers have been scheduled for Sunday evening -- the first at the Banani DOHS Jame Mosque at 7pm, followed by a second at the Banani Darbar Sharif Mosque at 8pm, and a last at the Central Shaheed Minar at 10pm.
Kaarina will be laid to rest on Monday morning in Abdullapur of Munshiganj's Gazaria Upazila following a final Janaza at 7am.
Kaarina had been battling severe liver complications and was hospitalised in Dhaka for over a week, where she was eventually put on life support as her condition deteriorated.
On May 11, she was airlifted to India and admitted to the Christian Medical College (CMC) Hospital in Vellore, Chennai.
While doctors initially considered a liver transplant, her frail physical condition meant she could not withstand major surgery.
Doctors focused instead on managing a severe infection, as fluid and phlegm had accumulated in her lungs.
Her condition never stabilised enough for the surgery. She breathed her last on Friday night.
"Her blood pressure dropped suddenly and the doctors just couldn't bring it back under control," Kaisar Hamid told Glitz, bdnews24.com's entertainment portal.
After completing her A Levels and before pursuing higher education in Australia, Kaarina worked at bdnews24.com as an intern at the English Desk.
Upon returning to Bangladesh, she initially garnered popularity as a digital content creator before transitioning into mainstream acting and screenwriting.
She was progressively cementing her footprint in the media industry, with notable appearances in popular projects such as Internsheep and 36-24-36.
