Thirteen students from South Point School & College, Banani have received the Daily Star Award for outstanding results in the O Level and A Level examinations.
Nine of them received A and A* grades in all subjects, the school said in a press release.
Student Nafisa Labiba Tabassum also secured the highest marks in the world in the AS Level Mathematics exam.
The institution says its other students also obtained “commendable results”.
“Their success has brought pride and honour to the institution and their parents,” South Point said.
The school administration said the students’ continued success was a result of their “hard work, perseverance and the close supervision of their teachers”.
The school says it “remains committed to providing quality education, regular academic instruction and dedicated efforts by its teachers to nurture and develop the students’ talents and potential”.
Convocation ceremonies were organised by the Banani branch of South Point to recognise the students’ achievements in Grade 10 and Grade 12.
The chief guest at the event was Monimun Nahar, a member of the governing body, while Enamun Nahar was the special guest. Principal colonel (retired) EM Morshed Alam was also in attendance.
The guests presented crests and certificates to meritorious students and wished them a bright and successful future.
