This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams will start on Jul 2 with the Bangla First Paper test.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka announced the schedule for the public exams on Wednesday.
The HSC theory exams will start on Jul 2 and continue until Aug 8. The practical exams will be held before Aug 15.
The examinations will be held from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm on the scheduled days.
Candidates will have to enter their centres 30 minutes before the start of the examination.
The first 30 minutes will be for multiple-choice questions and the last two and a half hours will be essay questions.
The schedule also included a set of instructions for the candidates. Exams will last for the duration noted on the question papers.
Candidates will collect their admit cards from the head of their respective institutions seven days before the start of the examinations.
Each candidate will have to fill in their examination roll number, registration number, subject code, etc. in the appropriate space on the OMR answer sheet provided.
Under no circumstances can examinees write on the margins of the answer sheet or fold them for any other purpose.
The candidate will have to pass the theoretical, multiple-choice and practical sections (where applicable) separately.
Each candidate will only be able to sit for examinations on subjects mentioned in the registration card and admit card. Under no circumstances will he or she be able to appear in any other.
Candidates will be allowed to use an analogue wristwatch. They will also be allowed to use a general scientific calculator (non-programmable) that is approved by the education board in the exam.
No one, other than the officers-in-charge of the exam centres, will be allowed to use mobile phones and no candidate will be allowed to bring a mobile phone to the exam centre on the day of the exam.
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has announced that this year's HSC and equivalent exams will be conducted with the same question papers for all boards.
Initially, the exams were to be held in June. Later, after discussions with stakeholders, it was decided to defer the exams until Jul 2, he said.
