GDP growth for the first seven months of the current fiscal year is estimated at 5.82 percent

Bangladesh’s per capita income has increased by $35 to $2,784 in a year, according to provisional estimate by the national statistics agency
At the end of the 2022-23 fiscal year, the per capita income was $2,749, or Tk 273,360, and it has now increased to Tk 306,144, according to data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics or BBS on Tuesday.
This is the first time the average annual income per capita has exceeded Tk 300,000. The BBS used an exchange rate of Tk 109.97 per dollar for this calculation.
In its report, the BBS also provided provisional data on gross domestic product or GDP growth, investment, and sectoral production for the current fiscal year.
The GDP at current prices has reached Tk 50.80 trillion or $459 billion.
At the end of the 2022-23 fiscal year, Bangladesh's GDP was nearly Tk 44.91 trillion or $452 billion at current prices.
For the first seven months of the current fiscal year, GDP growth at constant prices is estimated at 5.82 percent, slightly up from the final estimate of 5.78 percent for the previous year.
