A strong and steady start from opener Shadman Islam has helped Bangladesh take control of the Chattogram Test against Zimbabwe on Day 2.
After Taijul Islam (6-60) wrapped up the visitors’ first innings by collecting a sixth scalp with the first delivery of the day, Shadman (87*) and Anamul Haque (39) powered the Tigers to a promising 137-1 at the end of 37 overs on Tuesday.
Bangladesh will be looking to overcome the deficit and put up a commanding lead to claw their way back into the series after a shock loss in the opening Test in Sylhet.
