Afghanistan have started their Asia Cup mission by winning the opening match against Hong Kong by 94 runs.

Hong Kong fell short at 94/9 in 20 overs as they were chasing a massive 188 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Sediqullah Atal remained unbeaten till the end anchoring one end while Mohammad Nabi offered him some support in the middle.

Azmatullah Omarzai provided fireworks at the end of the Afghanistan innings with a blistering stand as they posted a commanding total.

In pursuit of 189, the underpowered Hong Kong were never a threat for the Afghans and they managed only 94 for nine wickets from their 20-over quota losing the match by a big margin.
