Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been signed by Lahore Qalandars on a direct contract to feature in the Pakistan Super League.

The PSL franchise confirmed on social media that Mustafizur will once again represent his former side, securing his services for 64.4 million Pakistani rupees, which is nearly Tk 43.6 million.

The development comes three days after IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders released Mustafizur following a directive from the Indian cricket board.

On Jan 6, the PSL confirmed that the pacer had been signed on a direct contract, though the franchise he would play for was not disclosed at the time.

Lahore Qalandars have now completed the move ahead of the auction.

In a post on the club’s official Facebook page, the franchise welcomed Mustafizur back, recalling his earlier stints in 2016 and 2018.

“Our Bangladeshi brother, [Mustafizur], picked in 2016 and 2018, is now our direct signing and finally back with the family. Once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar,” it read.

The post also confirmed the financial terms of the deal.
