Najmul Hossain Shanto has scored his fourth century in the One-Day International (ODI) format to give Bangladesh a strong chance at a massive total against New Zealand in Chattogram.

Shanto brought up his ton with the last ball of the 41st over, taking Bangladesh to 208/4 on Thursday.

The confident innings came at just the right time for the Tigers after pacer Will O’Rourke picked up three early wickets to leave the hosts at 32/3.

But alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das (76), Shanto forged a 160-run partnership that left the team in prime position for explosive final overs.

The series hangs in the balance in the 3rd ODI after the visitors won the first match by 26 runs.

Bangladesh had their revenge in the second with a comfortable win by six wickets.

New Zealand won the toss on Thursday and chose to field.
