Eggs thrown at Hasina’s photo at TSC in protest by ‘Red July’

The Red July secretary brings into question the safety of the common people when those accompanying the chief advisor are not safe

In a protest against the egg-throwing incident involving NCP leaders during their visit to New York, members of “The Red July” responded in kind by throwing eggs at a photo of Sheikh Hasina at Dhaka University’s TSC.

The incident on the campus occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

The protest was in response to the harassment of the NCP leaders who were accompanying Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus at the UN General Assembly.

The NCP and BNP leaders were subjected to verbal abuse and physical aggression by Awami League activists at JFK Airport.

“Today, we saw the companions of the chief advisor being humiliated with eggs thrown at them. If they cannot be protected while accompanying the chief advisor, how can the safety of ordinary citizens be ensured?” said Md Sajib Hossain, secretary of the platform.

During the incident in New York, eggs were thrown at Akhter Hossen, member secretary of the NCP, as Awami League supporters shouted slogans against Yunus.
