The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University (JXSTNU) to strengthen academic cooperation, scholarly interaction, cultural exchange, and collaborative research between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed on Monday. Shen Guihua, director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, signed on behalf of JXSTNU, while Vice Chancellor Shamsad Mortuza signed on behalf of ULAB.
The delegation from JXSTNU included Tong Zhineng, deputy dean of the School of Civil Engineering, and Zhou Xiaoting, associate professor of the School of Civil Engineering.
The ULAB delegation included Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Jude William Genilo; Prof Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, special advisor to the Board of Trustees and Treasurer; and lieutenant colonel (retired) Md Foyzul Islam, registrar; along with deans of various faculties, faculty members, and heads of different administrative offices.
“The MoU seeks to establish a framework for mutual cooperation and benefit through scholarly interaction, cultural interchange, cooperative research and development, development of academic and study programmes, and other forms of academic collaboration,” ULAB said in a statement.
It says the signing ceremony marked an “important step toward developing stronger institutional ties between ULAB and Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University and creating new opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers of both institutions”.
