The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) has honoured six faculty members for their contributions to research, publication and innovation at its Research Excellence Award 2026.
The awards were presented at the UAP Auditorium on Tuesday as part of the university’s 30th anniversary celebrations, the university said in a media statement.
Prof Tanveer Ferdous Saeed of the Department of Civil Engineering received the Gold Medal, Crest and Certificate for securing first place.

Three other emerging researchers were also given Crests and Certificates for their research achievements.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Mamun Ahmed and UAP Board of Trustees Chairman KM Mozibul Hoque attended the ceremony, which was presided over by UAP Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan.
Bhuiyan urged faculty members to make greater use of UAP’s research facilities, resources and budget support, saying stronger research is key to academic excellence and the university’s reputation.
Hoque said the Board of Trustees, teachers, officers and employees had worked over the past 30 years to advance UAP’s education, research and knowledge creation.
UGC chief Mamun said public and private universities share the same core mission of ensuring quality education and advancing knowledge.
He called for research to go beyond publications, with greater focus on knowledge creation, innovation and solutions to social challenges.
The event also featured the launch of the UAP Research Policy Booklet and leaflet, a showcase of departmental research activities, and a promotional video on the university’s Institute for Research, Innovation and Development (IRID).
The initiative “reflects UAP's growing focus on research quality, Q1 and Q2 publications, innovation and impactful research, while encouraging stronger research engagement to strengthen the university's national and international academic standing”.
