Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student front of the Jamaat-e-Islami, has elected new leadership for its Dhaka University unit for the 2026 session, with Muhammad Mohiuddin Khan chosen as president and Ashikur Rahman as secretary.

Muhammad Sazzad Hossain Khan has been nominated as the organisational secretary.

The information was disclosed in a statement issued by Shibir’s DU unit on Monday.

The election was conducted through direct votes cast by members during a session at the Shaheed Mahbubur Rahman Auditorium on Monday morning. Ballot papers signed by the central president were used in the voting process.

After the count, Shibir’s President Nurul Islam announced Mohiuddin as president, administered his oath, and confirmed the leadership lineup. Based on consultations with members, Mohiuddin nominated Ashikur Rahman as secretary and Sazzad as organisational secretary.

The members’ assembly was conducted by central HRM secretary Saidul Islam.

Central president Nurul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest, while central publication secretary Shadik Kayem was present as a special guest.
