New forum for buying houses

Dhaka, Feb 27 (BDNEWS) - A 19-member executive committee (EC) of Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBHA) was floated Sunday at a city hotel. Qayum Reza Chowdhury has been made the president of the BGBHA while Zakir Hossain, M Shahe Alam and KI Hossain vice presidents. "Though we are earning seventy five percent of country's total RMG (readymade garment) export sector, we do not have any recognition," said Qayum Reza Chowdhury, new president, to the reporters at a press briefing. "Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) are not helping us as we are doing business as middlemen -- we desperately need a platform for us," Reza added.
