Pakistan allows pineapple imports from Bangladesh

The Pakistan government has allowed the import of pineapples from Bangladesh.

The High Commission of Bangladesh in Islamabad shared this information in a statement on Friday.

The statement said Pakistan has strong demand for Bangladeshi pineapples, adding that the new export opportunity could pave the way for shipments of other agricultural products and fruits while boosting bilateral trade.

The opportunity was created through years of coordination between the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, the Deputy High Commission in Karachi, the Directorate of Agricultural Extension, the ministries of agriculture and foreign affairs, and the relevant Pakistani authorities, the High Commission added.
