Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has invited US investors to make long-term investment plans in Bangladesh.
The prime minister made the call during a meeting with the US-Bangladesh Business Council at the Secretariat on Thursday morning, according to his Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.
“Today, top officials of 25 leading US companies met with the honourable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. It was a highly productive discussion,” he said.
“I invite you to invest with confidence and build long-term plans. Let us create jobs, expand trade and investment, and ensure a thriving presence for your companies,” the deputy press secretary said, quoting the prime minister.

The high-level delegation of the US-Bangladesh Business Council was led by its president Atul Keshap and Oliver Simpson, executive vice president of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Excelerate Energy.
The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties between Bangladesh and the United States, expanding economic cooperation, and exploring promising investment sectors in Bangladesh, the deputy press secretary said.
Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin said, “Officials from 25 leading US companies took part in the meeting. These companies are the US-Bangladesh Business Council, US Chamber of Commerce, Excelerate Energy, Chevron, Meta or Facebook, VF Corporation, US Soybean Export Council, MetLife, Boeing, Uber, Apple, Asia Group, APR Energy, GE Vernova, VF Corporation, Corteva Agriscience, Self-Source, FullcaseMi, Pathao, Cisco, Robert, Metro Track, HSBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Anchor Lease and Drinkwell. Welcoming the US delegation to Bangladesh, the prime minister said: “I am delighted to welcome you to Bangladesh. “Before entering politics, I began my career as a businessman. I learned that the right policies and environment are essential for business growth. My message today is simple. Our six-month-old, forward-looking government wants American companies to invest and expand their operations in Bangladesh. We welcome your capital, technology, expertise and global experience. We are here to facilitate your success, and that is my personal commitment to you.”
